Missing Middle Design Competition, 2017

'Ashfield Archipelago' received a commendation in the Manor Houses category of the NSW Government's Missing Middle Design Competition. The aim of the competition was to investigate possibilities in medium density housing and provide feedback on the Medium Density Housing Guide.

'Ashfield Archipelago' reinvents the typology of the manor house in suburban Ashfield. The design utilises the platform to create a series of levels with varying degrees of privacy. If the project was to expand, the courtyards are designed so that they would be able to form a series of plazas, essentially becoming a street within the landscape of the block.

In collaboration with Henry Foley.
